Brenda Joyce Bounds was born to the late Lonnie and Alma Crane on March 18, 1940. She was happily married to the love of her life, Mickey, for 65 years, and was a loving and devoted mother to their three children. One thing everyone knew about Brenda was that she had a strong faith in Christ. She spent years teaching children about Jesus in Sunday School and led many Bible Drill teams. She enjoyed traveling around the country with Mickey, spreading the word of God and touching the lives of people everywhere she went.
She truly was loved by so many. What Brenda’s children remember the most about her is her gentle spirit. She was kind, patient, and always made them feel safe. Her friends remember her as a godly woman who was very compassionate and attentive to their needs, never hesitating to help. She was a joy to be around and had a personality that made everyone around her laugh.
Brenda was known as Nannie to those who knew her best. Her 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren were the most important people in her life. She was such a selfless grandmother, always doing whatever she could to make sure they had everything they needed. She loved so fully, so unconditionally, and each one of her ‘darlings’ felt that from her every single day. She will be missed more than words can express.
Mrs. Bounds is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Mickey Bounds; children, Kelvin Bounds and Kim Liner, Belinda Carver, and Rhonda Wright and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Heather Gordy, Laura Bounds, Julie Clark, Amber Chadwell, Ashley Lucas, Keleigh Wilson, and Joshua Wright; seventeen great grandchildren; sister, Betty Crisp; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Alma Crane; and sister, Maxine Monistere and her husband, Phillip.
Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Wright, Aiden Holloway, Terry Gordy, Robby Chadwell, Jeff Clark, and Chance Bounds. Honorary pallbearer is Brian Lucas.
