Memorial funeral services for Julia Arlene Armfield, age 76, of Bastrop, LA will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, February 28th in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Reverend Allan Eppinette of Harmony Baptist officiating. Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Golden Funeral Home on Monday, February 27th from 5pm - 7 pm. Mrs. Armfield went to be with our heavenly father and was reunited with her husband and daughter on February 23rd, 2023, in Bastrop, LA. She will be remembered as a very genuine, kind and soft-spoken person who enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to music and audio books and having long chats with her grandchildren on the phone. She was widely known throughout Morehouse Parish by many residents as their “paper lady” for over 30 years. Mrs. Armfield was born in Bastrop, LA to Jackson Ananias Deer and Artie Lee Bonner on September 24th, 1946. She attended Bastrop High School and graduated in 1964. She then worked as a newspaper carrier and circulation manager for Bastrop Daily Enterprise. She is survived by her brother, Andrew Deer; daughter, Rebecca Hunt and husband, Perry; son Jarred Armfield and wife, Han; nephews, Michael Deer, Richard Deer and wife, Emma, Jeremy Deer and wife, Claudia; nieces, Kimberly Deer and partner, Jerome; grandchildren, Lara Maynard, Shelby Terry and husband, Stephen, Marshal Lee, Nathan Hunt and Baylee Hunt; great-grandchildren, Addie Grace Maynard, and Lorelai Maynard. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Armfield; daughter, Kelli Armfield; parents, Jackson A. Deer and Artie Lee Bonner; brother, Artis Jackson Deer; and mother-in-law, Lois V. Armfield.
