Obituary of Shelby Jean Carter Boyd

Memorial visitation for Mrs. Shelby Jean Carter Boyd is scheduled for Monday, February 27, 2023, at Golden Funeral Home, from 5 PM - 7 PM. Mrs. Boyd, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the age of eighty-four. She loved the color White and enjoyed gardening, interior design, and working in her yard. She made sure she had her yard and home decorated for each and every holiday throughout the year! Mrs. Boyd loved to bowl and fish, and was known for being an excellent cook! She took pride in looking her best, which earned her the title “Fashionista” from her family! Above all else, Mrs. Boyd loved her Lord and family. She is survived by her husband, Dixon Howell Boyd; daughters, Mary Reeves of Pangburn, AR, Theresa Ragusa of Pangburn, AR, Melissa Gregory and husband, Toby, of Bastrop, LA, Alicia Glover and husband, Tim, of Monroe, LA, and Molly Thomas and husband, James, of Lafayette, LA; sons, Mario A. Ragusa and wife, Mishelle of Mer Rouge, LA, and Mark T. Ragusa of Mandeville, LA; grandchildren, Patience Appleton and husband, Richard, Lindsay Long and husband, Carl, Jacob Cheek and wife, Brittany, Shelby Sims and wife, Raegan, Mandy Ragusa, Madison Thomas, Madeline Thomas, Mairin Thomas, and Alayna Gregory; great grandchildren, Kate Appleton, Jack Appleton, Spencer Long, Lexi Long, Jaycee Cheek, Clay Cheek, Maddox Caldwell, Myles Caldwell, and Annie Sims. Mrs. Boyd is preceded in death by her parents, Luther Carter and Mary Easterling; and aunt, who was like a sister, Janet Dove.
