Funeral services for Portia Gayle Veazey are scheduled for 3 PM Friday, March 10, 2023 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Danny McVay officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Goldens.
Mrs. Veazey, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at the age of seventy-seven. She loved and enjoyed her family!
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Gladney and husband, Andy of Bastrop, LA; son, Jeffrey Shane Veazey of Bastrop, LA; sisters, Barbara Stoll and husband, Jim of Houston, TX, and Janie Listar of Crossett, AR; brother, Sonny Hudson and wife, Brenda of Sterlington, LA; grandchildren, Jeremy Herrington, Brittany Moody and husband, Tyler; great grandchildren, Jacee Lynne Burnham and Anberlyn Claire Moody.
Mrs. Veazey is preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.C. “Bud” Veazey; daughter, Veronica Lynn Herrington; granddaughter, April Leann Burnham; sister, Ola Land; and brother, Walter Sebren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Zach Land, Jamie Land, Randy Johnson, Sammy Rogers, Robert Fatheree, and Trevor Sisk.
