Obituary of Martha Lou Murphy

Graveside funeral services for Martha Lou Murphy are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Bobby Porter officiating. Mrs. Murphy passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the age of eighty-eight. She was a member of Ridge Avenue Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Louisiana. She enjoyed reading and was known to have a lot of “spunk.” At the age of seventeen, just out of high school, Mrs. Murphy started working for Bellsouth and remained there until her retirement. She is survived by her brothers, Pat Murphy, and Dell Murphy and wife, Judy; nephews, Richard Jennings and Sandra Mayhall, and Waymon Murphy; niece, Melony Murphy; and other nieces, nephews, and extended family. Mrs. Murphy is preceded in death by her parents, Cliss and Bettress Murphy; brother, Billy Keith Murphy; sister-in-law, Ola Mae Murphy; and brother, Eugene Murphy.
