Obituary of Geneva McKnight Britton

Funeral services for Geneva McKnight Britton are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev, Dwight Fulton officiating. Interment will follow in McKnight Cemetery. There will be a visitation Tuesday from 1 PM - 2 PM service time at Goldens. Ms. Britton passed away Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the age of ninety. She was a faithful member of Bastrop United Pentecostal Church until entering Cherry Ridge Guest Care where she has lived the last several years. Ms. Britton worked at International Paper Company before opening her own business as a beautician. She also worked as a bookkeeper, in Delhi, Rayville, and Bastrop for several vehicle dealerships. Ms. Britton loved being outdoors, especially, hunting and fishing. She is survived by her son, Gerald Wayne Coburn of Bastrop, LA; siblings, Laura Myers and husband, Harold of West Monroe, LA, Carra Duncan of Bastrop, LA, Elaine Sims and husband, Cecil of Bonita, LA; grandchildren, Shawn Coburn and wife, Lisa, of Bastrop, LA, Brandi Carter and husband, Ryan of Sterlington, LA, Derek Coburn and wife, Caila of Bastrop, La; great grandchildren, Chelsea and Casie Coburn, Kensley and Emma Kate Carter, Rylee, Jocelyn, Carter, and Tommy Coburn; great great grandchildren, Cairo and Adalyn. Ms. Britton is preceded in death by parents, Joseph William and Betty McKnight Nobles; sisters, Eva Ezell, and Mildred Gwin; brothers, Charles Edward McKnight, James Clifton McKnight, and Joseph Luther McKnight.
