Graveside services for Doris Marie “Dottie” Pace are scheduled for 11 AM Thursday, October 26, 2023, in Memorial Park Cemetery, with Bro. Tim Post officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, prior to the service at Golden Funeral Home, beginning at 10 AM. Mrs. Pace was born and raised in Oak Grove (Fisk Union), LA on April 21, 1933, and passed away Sunday October 22, 2023, at the age of 90 in Bastrop, Louisiana. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Taylor, AR. Mrs. Pace was a very strong-willed woman who loved and cared immensely for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was a hard worker and enjoyed taking care of her family. Her Summerlin Lane home was a true haven for her grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. She hosted many sleepovers and enjoyed watching her granddaughters and great granddaughters play dress up with her super soft pajamas and nightgowns. Mrs. Pace had a good sense of humor and never met a stranger. Her welcoming and nurturing nature left your heart feeling full. She truly was a one of a kind. She will be forever loved and dearly missed. Mrs. Pace is survived by her daughters, Jonette Anderson and Emily Caler; son, John Phillip Pace; sisters, Rennie Barmore, Nancy Russ (John), Linda Barkley, and Gail Mize; grandchildren, Tara Currence (Dennis) Chad Bryan (Lesli), Brandon Bryan, Whitney Turner, Lindsay Hodges, Sabina Watt (Brian), Magan Leonard (Kyle) Johnathan Pace (Maria), Jacqueline Hutchison, and Jesse Pace (Paige); one very precious great-granddaughter, Hope Vail; and numerous other great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Claibe and Katie Philley; husband John Henry Pace; son David Emory Pace; siblings, Thomas Philley, Paul Philley, Clara Bell Hopper, Patsy Smith, Judy Philley, and Caliece Irby. Serving as pallbearers will be Jesse Pace, Brian Watt, Rickey Ferrell, Jeff Philley, Jody Philley, and Jessie Philley. The Pace Family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Premier Hospice, LeGrand Healthcare, Dr. Allen Spires, and many other doctors and healthcare workers involved in her care.
