Obituary of Anita Wiggins Fabela

Anita Wiggins Fabela, age 66, a life-long resident of Bastrop, passed into eternal life on Sunday, November 26 in Jackson, Mississippi surrounded by her family.
Anita cared for the elderly in their homes for many years. She loved the New Orleans Saints, cooking for family and friends, tending to gravesites in cemeteries, and thrift shopping with friends and family. She not only walked in the light of Christ, but she also invited everyone she met to join her by offering them a miniature wooden cross.
She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Rickey; sons Rusty Wimbish (Tracy), Brad Wimbish (Amber), Joseph Davidson (Rosaura) and daughter Nikki Cable (Ashley); sister, Vickie DeZubay (Eric); 13 grandchildren: Juli Morgan (Derek), Erica Wimbish, Russell Wimbish (Madison), Kelsey Sowyers (Joey), Kayla Little, Skyler Cable, Jayce Wimbish, Braiden Wimbish, Emery Wimbish, Aaralyn Davidson, Avarie Davidson, Mario Alvarado, Fernando Alvarado, Adrian Anaya and 9 great-grandchildren.
Anita is preceded in death by her parents, Ira “Bo” and Eula Wiggins; half-sisters, Phyllis Moore, and Imogene Woods; and half-brother, Steve Whittington.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 30 from 5:00-7:00 pm at North Church Bastrop, 358 Holt Street.
