Funeral services for Mr. Peter Carleton Branch, age 70 of Farmerville, LA, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church with Bro. Rubin Weaver and Bro. David Byrnes officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Golden’s Funeral Home.
Peter was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and he later moved to Farmerville where he met the love of his life, Debbie. After marrying Debbie, the two began their careers running restaurants for Debbie’s dad, Bill, and eventually, they became the owners and operators of Popeyes Fried Chicken both in Bastrop and Farmerville.
Peter was always happiest when he was enjoying the great outdoors where he was an avid hunter, and some of his fondest memories came from hunting with Debbie and his grandchildren. Watching all four of his grandchildren play sports grew to be one of his greatest joys in life in recent years, and he was frequently found running to various sporting events to make sure he did not miss a game. Peter was best described as loving to take care of others, and it was evident in how he served at his church, Antioch Baptist Church where he worked behind the scenes to help wherever he could.
The void he leaves behind will never be filled, and he will be missed beyond measure!
Mr. Peter was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Vee King Branch, his father, James Tenney Branch and his brother, James Tenney Branch, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debbie Halley Branch, his two children, Christina Nguyen (Long), Billy Branch (Lauren), two grandsons Tanner and Tucker Nguyen, two granddaughters Piper and Reese Branch, his twin sister, Bette Branch Lehmberg (Phil), brothers in law and sisters in law, Kent and Ann Halley, Sharon Stewart, and Rick and Teresa Willis, and his best friends and “adopted brother and sister,” Art and Sue Rainwater, and Jake Rhodes his “adopted son” along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Bryan, Kenneth Halley, Mickey Halley, Jr., John Preaus, Danny Retherford, and Jeff Simmons. Honorary pallbearers - Don Byrnes, Donnie Elias, L.E. Pardue, and Kent Halley.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, December 1, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church.
