Obituary of Marlene Marie Hogan Browning

Marlene Marie Hogan Browning, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the age of 88. She was born in Oneonta, NY on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 1935, the fourth child of James and Irene Hogan. She was raised and lived her childhood in Oneonta, NY, along with two brothers and three sisters. Later she married and moved to the Butternut Valley where she was a full-time mom and raised her four children, Robert E. Wing, Jr. of Lecanto, FL, Christina Robinson (Roger) of Bastrop, LA, Rhonda Wing of Morris, NY, Wendy McGowan (James) of Courtland, NY. After her children were grown, she held various bookkeeping and accounting positions. She was a wonder housekeeper and proud of her homes. Marlene has nine grandchildren, Roger Robinson, Jr., Ryan Robinson, Clay Robinson, Keona Lee Crawford, Matthew Wing, Andrea Labor, Lindsey Totman, Lauren Miller, Hannah Kinney and 16 great grandchildren. She loved her family and life, she could always be heard singing and humming in her daily walk. In her later years, Marlene escaped the New York winters and moved to sunny Florida. She was very active in her work and especially her church where she played the organ and piano. Marlene loved the Lord and she loved to worship and play the instruments for Him. As her health declined, she spent the last three years in Bastrop, Louisiana with her daughter and family. On Saturday, December 9, the Lord called her home. She is now dancing on the streets of gold and worshipping in the heavenly choir. See you later Mom – We love you!! A private family celebration of life will be held in New York in late spring 2024.
