Graveside funeral services for Steve C. Smith, age 79, are scheduled for 2:30 PM Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, LA with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until 1 PM at Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop, LA, Thursday morning prior to the graveside service.
Mr. Smith, a retired industrial electrician, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023. He enjoyed reading and being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also loved woodworking. Mr. Smith proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Sue Gandy; grandchildren, Kelly Baker and husband Jason, Christie Bonvillian, Amiee Hendricks; great grandchildren, Tristan Baker, Jasmine Bonvillian, Kaitlyn Kirkland, Kaydence Davis; and nephew, Glen Wayne Butler.
Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pauline Smith; and sister, Barbara Jean Smith Butler.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
