Obituary of Bobby Joe Musgrove

Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Joe Musgrove, age 76, are scheduled for 2 PM Monday, January 22, 2024 at Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Laird officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 PM until 2 PM Monday prior to the service. Mr. Bobby, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Friday, January 19, 2024. He was born to George Kenneth Musgrove and Mae Irene Thompson on December 20, 1947. He was a member of Concord Primitive Baptist Church and afterwards Bartholomew Methodist Church. Mr. Musgrove served his country in the United States Army from 1968 until 1970 during the Vietnam War. He received a commendation for outstanding performance of duty as a member of the ammunition section during his time in the Army. He leaves behind two children, Amanda Musgrove and Adrian Musgrove, both of Texas; sister, Catherine Harrell; brothers, Sam Musgrove, Johnny Musgrove and wife Fredia, Larry Musgrove and wife Elva; sister-in-law, Ginger Musgrove; special friend, Katherine Tubbs and numerous nieces, nephews and family members. Mr. Musgrove is preceded in death by his father, George Kenneth Musgrove, Sr.; mother, Mae Irene Musgrove; sisters, Roxanne Barton, Lollie Elkins, Joyce Dupree; brother, Jerry Musgrove; sister-in-law, Velda Moore Musgrove; brother-in-law, John “Shorty” Dupree, Keith Barton and Lloyd Harrell, Jr. Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Harrell, David Harrell, Brother Musgrove, Jason Musgrove, Stanley Guyewski, Jimmy Brodnax and Devin Guyewski.
