Funeral services for Johnny DeBlieux, age 86, will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 2, 2024, at Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Andy Myrick and Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, prior to the service.
John Alvin “Johnny” DeBlieux was born on October 28, 1937. He left this world on January 31, 2024 to live with Jesus in his Heavenly home. He was the son of Honore Louis DeBlieux and Ozique “Ozet” Perot and the brother to fifteen siblings from their marriage: Joseph David “JD”, Oneatha Lee “Nita”, Henry Lester Clifton, Mabel Lois, Mildred Lavrne, Alma Louise, Helen Elizabeth, Honore Louis, Jr., Annice “Annie”, James Clifford, Walter Victor “WV”, Tina Theresa, Peggy Jean, and Robert Paul, all of whom preceded him in death.
Johnny met and married Wilma Dell Sanders in 1961. They just celebrated their sixty-third wedding anniversary. If you wanted to know what a marriage is all about, all you had to do is watch the two of them together. They shared three children: Michael Wayne “Mike” DeBlieux, Jennifer Lane DeBlieux McKenzie and husband, Lee, Christopher Lynn “Bo” DeBlieux and wife, Kathy. Mike DeBlieux went to his Heavenly home July 30, 1997. Mike has a daughter, Heather Lane Rinehart and husband, Michael; Jennifer and Lee have a son, Tanner Michael; Bo and Kathy have two children, Jared DeBlieux and wife, Regan, and Anna Chain and husband, Luke. Johnny and Wilma have four great-granddaughters, Avery, Aubrey, Adelynn, Michaela; and one on the way, Evie.
Johnny was a great husband, father, and friend to so many. “He was first, last, and always a cowboy, in the finest sense of the word.” Johnny was an honorable man that loved deeply and worked hard all his life. He was great at telling stories and put smiles on everyone he encountered. As hard as it is to let him go, we know he is rejoicing in Heaven with his son Mike, his family members, and all his friends who preceded him.
Pallbearers are Scott Hall, Matt Scoggins, Toby Gregory, Shelby Gregory, Steve Barnhill, and Greg Cheek.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert “Bob” White, Jimmy Straughn, David Evans, Billy Smith, Johnny Raspberry, Wayne Warner, and Ty Gregory.
