Mrs. Jaggers, a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church and owner/operator of Bayou Beauty Daylily Farm, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the age of 80. She married the love of her life January 4, 1964. She enjoyed life and always had fun. Her career started as a telephone operator, and that was a time when the operator manually connected the calls. She would switch a persons' call to someone totally different and listen as they continued to talk until, they realized they were on the wrong call. Mrs. LaFran was a regular prankster. She didn't work long after she and Mr. Leroy married. She was a homemaker for many years and had a love for gardening. At some point she fell in love with daylilies. She studied books about them, and learned everything she could about them. This led her to start hybridizing them, which she was actually very good at. Her husband wanted to start a business selling them and so they did. They started Jaggers Bayou Beauties Daylilies. At the peak of the business, they had five acres of them. She really enjoyed meeting and visiting with the people who came to buy them.
Her hobbies included gardening, reading, and photography. She also loved babies and was an avid deer hunter. (She probably killed more deer than some men).
She will be greatly missed. Her family takes comfort in the fact that she is with her Lord and Savior. Also, she is dancing in the wind with her true love again.
Mrs. Jaggers is survived by her children, Tammy Wells and husband Chip, Marvin Jaggers and wife Angela; sister, Pat DeShazo; brother, Hubert Martin and wife Naydine; four grandchildren, Alexis Walker and husband Kiley, Joshua Wells and wife Brittany, Chelsea Hayes and husband Lee, Maverick Jaggers and wife Brittney; great grandchildren, Scout Wells, Lake Wells, Jagger Walker, Kiley Wells Walker, Graham Hayes and Gentry Hayes.
She is preceded in death by husband, Eddy Leroy Jaggers and parents, Roland and Geneva Martin.
Serving as pallbearers are John Tucker Ross, Cason Salinas, Maverick Jaggers, Joshua Wells, Kiley Walker and Troy McLarrin.
