Obituary of Richard Cleveland "Andy" Anderson III

Richard Cleveland “Andy”Anderson III was born August 29, 1948 to Richard Cleveland “Buddy” Anderson, Jr and L’Vonne Kerrigan Anderson of Bastrop. On February 24, 2024 God called him home after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was a retired car salesman and member of New Life Church. Andy’s greatest legacy is his unwavering faith and love of his family, friends and church community. In addition, he passed along his business acumen, sales abilities, and love of the outdoors, sports, and people. He loved his country and was a veteran of the United States Navy, proudly serving from 1967 to 1972, during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Anderson; daughters, Mandy Anderson, and Megan Anderson Shirley, and husband John; son, Richard C. Anderson IV, and wife Katie; sisters, Teresa Anderson Wood, and husband Gary, and Angela Anderson Ryder, and husband Todd; grandchildren, Grant Anderson, Carson Anderson, Asher Anderson, Andibelle Anderson, Ashton Shirley, Victoria Shirley, Evie Rose Shirley, Henley Shirley, and Olivia Shirley; brothers from another mother, Jimmy Doles and Michael John Courson; special care giver and friend, Christopher Mullins; his special pets, Lily Belle, Tilly Jean, Madi Mae, and Roxie Red; and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, R.C. “Buddy” Anderson, Jr. and L’Vonne Anderson; daughter, Nicole Anderson; step-son, Justice Farrar; nephew, Aaron Wood; and special friend, Jerry Grigsby.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 12:00 pm at New Life Church in Bastrop, Louisiana. A memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm, and interment will follow in Mer Rouge Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Andy to the New Life Church Campus Expansion Fund, 10091 Peach Orchard Road, Bastrop, LA 71220.
They also would like to express their sincere gratitude to Chris Mullins, UMMC medical teams in Jackson, MS and Premiere Hospice nurses, Mary Ellen Kennedy and Dustin McGowan.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Biff Meredith, Ricky Grimmett, Todd Ryder, Jimmy Doles, David Anderson, Lindsay Anderson, and Michael John Courson. Honorary pallbearer will be Gary Wood.
