A time of visitation will be held Tuesday, prior to the service, beginning at 12 noon. Mrs. Barbara Roberts of West Monroe, LA, was born September 17, 1941, and passed away on March 7, 2024. She was married to the love of her life, Rev. Oda Wayne “Tuck” Roberts, for almost fifty-six years before his death on July 4, 2017. Mrs. Roberts was a thirty-year retired elementary teacher of Ouachita Parish schools. Her life was a life of service to her Lord and Savior as she traveled the country with her husband as he preached the Gospel. She had a heart for people and a smile that would light up a room, never meeting a stranger. Mrs. Roberts is survived by one brother, Harold Glen Bates; those who were like her children, Mona Farley (Craig), Cindy Jeansonne (Lyle), Joseph Donald, Bro. Tim Post (Carmen), Bro. Cal Adams (Krystal); those who were like her grandchildren, Kaelyn, Phillip, and Emily Adams; very special sister-in-law, Sandra Roberts Williams (Jerry); and sisters-in-law, LuWana Roberts and Cascille Roberts. Barbara is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Oda Wayne “Tuck” Roberts; her parents, Oscar Laphet and Celestine White Bates; brother and sister-in-law, Donald Gene Bates (Anne); sisters-in-law, Carolyn Bates, Joyce R. Curry, Ann Roberts, and Dorothy R. Head (Oscar); and brothers-in-law, Marshal Roberts, Bob Roberts, Rev. Don Roberts, and Emmitt Curry. Serving as pallbearers will be Dr. Troy Bostick, Sheriff Mike Stone, George Stone, Wayne Hart, T.L. Rhymes, Doug Stokes, and Chief Jeff Terrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Drew Pesnell, Jim Pesnell, Doyle Cox, Loy Carson, Richard Patterson, Doug Fleming, Ron Lawrence, and Roy Anderson. She now has heard her Savior say, "well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord."
