Obituary of Mittie Mae Sisk Thomas

Funeral services for Mittie Mae Sisk Thomas are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, April 4, 2024, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post and Bro. Doug Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, prior to the service, beginning at 1 PM. Mrs. Thomas passed away Monday, April 1, 2024, at the age of seventy-eight. She retired from the Morehouse Parish School System and resided in Mer Rouge, LA. Mrs. Thomas loved her family, and especially loved her dogs, Penny and Hotshot. She is survived by her daughters, Kim Thomas Harris of Mer Rouge, LA, and Gale Thomas Womack, and husband Andy, of Oak Grove, LA; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Lynn Thomas of Mer Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Cole Harris, Calob Brown, Joshua Thomas, Kristen Carney, and husband Damon; and great-grandchildren, Paislee Carney and Lillian Carney. Mrs. Thomas is preceded in death by her husband, M.L. Thomas; son, Keith “Bubba” Thomas; daughter, Shelia Ann Thomas; parents, Pittman and Mary Sisk; and brother, John Sisk. Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Barham, David Thomas, Richard Byrd, Don White, Darrell McKoin, and Jerry Clack. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Lagniappe Healthcare, St. Francis 6th Floor, and St. Francis 6th Floor ICU, for their love and care for Mrs. Thomas.
