Funeral services for Mr. Billy Joe Young, age 76 are scheduled for 2 P.M. Friday, April 12, 2024, in the Golden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dow Young officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M. service time. Mr. Young, a retired Army Sergeant Major of twenty-seven years, loved his country and served in the Vietnam War as well as Desert Storm. During his time served, he received multiple Purple Heart and multiple Bronze Star Medals, along with other service accomplishments. Mr. Young loved his family dearly, and adored his wife. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren; he also loved fishing along with painting, dancing and traveling the country in the RV. He also served as Commander at The American Legion. He is survived by his wife of twelve years, Robbie Lou Young; daughters, Jennifer Chambers and husband, Jeffrey Chambers, Tina Huynh and husband, John Ha, Lan Huynh and husband, Khanh Le; son, Michael Young and wife, Alma Young; sisters, Barbara Sue and husband, David Goodman, Louise Kendall, Essie Mae Young and Brenda Wooldridge; brothers, Dow Young and wife, Angie Young, Don Young, Ronnie Young, and Gary Young; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, along with numerous friends. Mr. Young is preceded in death by his parents; Annie Ruth Deaton and Dow Shelton Young; brothers, Jimmy Young and Terry Lynn Young. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Young Jr., Daniel Young, Dayton Chambers, Dang Lam, Logan Chambers and Don Young. Honorary pallbearer will be David Goodman.
