Funeral services for William Ervin Hodges are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, May 15, 2024, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Bruce Culp officiating. Interment will follow in Bonita Road Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, prior to the service, beginning at 1 PM. William Ervin Hodges was born to Mary McHand and John Hodges on January 18, 1942, in Rayville, Louisiana, and passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at the age of eighty-two. He was one of nine children! William is preceded in death by his mother, Mary; father, John; gorgeous wife, Shigemi; four brothers, John Edward, James Edger, Leon, and Thomas Earl; and two sisters, Ruby and Jenny. He is survived by his daughter, Keiko; his remaining brothers, Clide, or better known as T-Boy, and David; his grandchildren, Erika and Leyo; and great grandson, Yugo. Mr. Hodges is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews, along with many, many great and great great nieces and nephews, who cared for him dearly! Ervin was known for being a United States Navy Veteran and a Vietnam War hero. He enjoyed fishing, building boats, and other amazing crafts, playing cards, and causing trouble with his loving brother! He was so special to so many people! Ervin taught generations of his family to drive vehicles and all the complicated things that come along with it. He spent hours of his time telling “sea-stories” just to hear his family laugh! He truly was an amazing human being and was deeply loved by many! I am so proud to have gotten the opportunity to be someone special to him! - Karlie Guess Serving the family as pallbearers will be Chris Fyrday, Landon Hall, Dylan Guess, Dakota Uherek, Josh Keating, and Ryan McLarrin.
