Obituary of Charles Henry Hayes

Funeral services for Charles Henry Hayes are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, June 13, 2024, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Jimmie Yocum and Bro. Jerry Stuckey officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, prior to the service, beginning at 11 AM.
Mr. Hayes, a member of Faith Baptist Church, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the age of seventy-eight. He was a Route Courier, and the last few years served as the Neighborhood Watch officer. Mr. Hayes loved listening Country music and never met a stranger. He enjoyed visiting, and would often meet at Chevron to drink coffee with his friends. Mr. Hayes loved his wife and family dearly, and will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Glenda Hayes; son, Michael Blakely; sister, Margaret Fink of Edge Park, IA; grandson, Ryan Harris; special friend, Johnny Townsend; and furbaby, Miley.
Mr. Hayes is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Pocahontas Hayes; sister, Betty Hayes; and mother-in-law, Syble Wallace.
Serving as pallbearers will be Donald Wallace, Mike Blakely, Ryan Harris, Benjy Wallace, Justin Musgrove, and Sam Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Little, Jeff Lynn, Joey Musgrove, and Steven Pullen.
