Obituary of Dennis W. Clark

Dennis W. Clark passed away on June 23, 2024, at the age of 61. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cheryl Clark; daughter, Courtney Fewell & husband Jeff (Dumas, TX); 2 sons, Jonathan Clark (Brandon, MS) & Alex Clark (Miami Beach, FL); 3 grandchildren, MacKenzie, Madison & Miranda; 2 great-grandchildren, Michael Reid & McKenna Mae; and his 5 siblings, Mike Clark, Marcus Hogan, Pam “Titter” Scott, Janet Hogan and Jan Donellan. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Logan Clark & Lola Mae Hogan; brother, Gerald “Bubba” Clark; and father-in-law, Shelby Carter. He was by all accounts a family man - they were his pride and joy. Even outside of his own children, he adored all of his many nieces and nephews. He would tell you his dogs, Chip (who passed a year ago) and Maverick, are also a part of his family. Both of whom he adored. Dennis loved a wide range of sports, including football, basketball, tennis, golf, wrestling, nascar & boxing. His music taste was just as diverse from Elvis & Travis Tritt to The Bee Gees. Every spring and summer you could find Dennis tending to his flowers and plants, while every fall and winter you could find him decorating the house for the holidays. He was an amazing cook and cherished the opportunity to feed any guests he had. His loving and generous nature often found him setting aside his own needs for the needs of others and he would give you the shirt off his back if you asked him for it. Memorial visitation will be held at the home of his mother-in-law, Kathryn Carter, on Thursday June 27 from 4-7pm. The address is 12541 Shelby Dr., Bastrop, LA 71220.
