Obituary of Dorothy (Dot) Williams Hindmon

Memorial graveside services for Dorothy (Dot) Williams Hindmon, age 94, of Bastrop, LA, will be held at 10 AM Saturday, August 24, 2024, in Memorial Park Cemetery. Dot was born May 21, 1930, in Fairbanks, LA, and passed away August 20, 2024, in Bastrop, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Flood and Lillian Williams; sisters, Mary Jane W. Harris and Virginia Lee Osborn; brother, Thomas Flood Williams, Jr.; and her husband of sixty-two years, Doyle Kenneth Hindmon. Survivors include her three sons, David K. Hindmon, Dan T. Hindmon, and wife Debora, Dale W. Hindmon; Charles Lowery, and wife Ann, and Sharon West, who were like family to she and Doyle; seven grandchildren, Chris, John, Katie, Josh, Jacob, Ross, and Jessica; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Dot loved her family, church family, and her many friends. She was always thinking and praying for others. Dot would always say, “God is so Good, I have had a wonderful life.” The Hindmon family would like to give special thanks to Mark and Tammy Sistrunk, Adam and Della Sistrunk, the staff of LeGrand Nursing Home, and Passages Hospice for their love and care of Mrs. Hindmon, and also to Chris Reppond and R&S Supply for their unwavering support during this time. The family would like to mention Dr. Cox as well, and the care he provided for Mrs. Hindmon throughout the years, up until his recent passing. They are grateful for the love and devotion he showed for his patients.
