Obituary of Wayne Richard "Six Point" Jones

Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Richard “Six Point” Jones are scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, August 28, 2024, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Dr. Vic Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will be held Wednesday from 9 AM - 10 AM prior to service time. Mr. Jones passed away Monday, August 26, 2024 at his home. He attended Hughes Chapel Church and loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, and gardening. Mr. Jones enjoyed making his special salsa, in fact he was known as the “Salsa Extraordinaire”. He is survived by his sister, Opal Carter and husband, Vic of Sterlington, LA; nephews, David Bryan Jones and wife, Barbara of Bastrop, LA, Dewayne Glass and wife, Sue of Mer Rouge, LA, Randy Ainsworth and wife, Jamie of North Carolina; special friend and neighbor, Bertha Johnson of Bastrop, LA. Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his mother, Reba Jean Wiggins; brother, David Leon Jones and wife, Cheryl; sisters, Donnie Sue Paul, Bobbie Sue Jones; and nephew, David Shane Jones. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Aaron Crymes, Charles Babb, Josh Elkins, MaKyrin Nelson, Chad Thompson, and Gage Crymes. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Elkins, Gary Elkins, Raymond Goodman, Bo Woodard, Rodgerick Johnson, and Craig Montgomery. The family wishes to express a special thank you to two special people, David and Barbara Jones, for taking such good care of Wayne.
