Obituary of Jimmy Will Harkness

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Will Harkness will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, September 18, 2024, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Dennis Hackler officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday from 12 noon - 2 PM prior to the service.
Mr. Harkness, a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024 at the age of sixty-three. He was a retired Major in the United States Army and a farmer.
He is survived by his son Blake Harkness and wife, Magen; brother, Tim Harkness and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Dylan Harkness, and Grace Harkness; nieces, Shalene Kelly, and Heather Flowers Rice, and husband Adam; nephews, Cody Harkness and wife, Susan, Dane Harkness and wife, Andrea, and Chad Harkness and wife, Lou Ellen.
Mr. Harkness is preceded in death by his wife, Jan Harkness; parents, Rayford and Mary Ann Harkness; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cecil and Sue Flowers.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Cody Harkness, Adam Rice, along with Combat Vets Motorcycle Association brothers, Slowpoke, Gunner, Loner, Dozer, Squid, and Bomber.
Mike George, Doug George, Rooster, Sawdust, and Roper will serve as honorary pallbearers.
