Funeral services for Jimmie Crenshaw Pettis are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, October 10, 2024, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddy Sullivan and Rev. John Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, prior to the service, beginning at 1 PM. Mrs. Pettis was born April 12, 1924, and passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the age of one hundred. She attended Bible Missionary Church, Monroe, until about three years ago. When her health declined, Mrs. Pettis moved in with her daughter, Linda, and son-in-law, Terry, and attended Bibleway Assembly, Foley, AL. She loved to cook and always made sure none left hungry! She was a very giving person and also very quick witted. Mrs. Pettis loved her family dearly, especially her two grandsons, Seth and John. She is survived by her son, Howard “Buster” Pettis; daughter, Linda Pettis Mincks, and husband Terry; two grandsons, Seth Mincks, and wife Jill, John Mincks, and wife Ashley; brother, Nonnie Crenshaw, and wife Lou; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Mrs. Pettis is preceded in death by her husband, Elzey Pettis; parents, James “Jim” Sylvester Crenshaw and Alice Turner Crenshaw; sisters, Bernice Jewel Crenshaw, Bert L. Blackwell, Dora Mae Wooden, and Arlene Huff. Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Neal, Tom Jones, Runt Pettis, and Kerry Sampson.
