Jacquelin Roberts Balch, 80, of Austin, TX passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024. She was born to Merlin Buck Roberts and Frances Louise Deal on November 2, 1943 in Key West, FL. She grew up in Collinston, LA and graduated from Northeast Louisiana University with a master’s in psychology. Jacquelin was a dedicated fixture in the educational system for over 40 years. She was known for her passion for teaching and her unwavering belief that she could “teach a rock to read.” She was clever and surreptitiously creative and could always make those around her laugh. Jacquelin was a kind and loving daughter, sister, niece, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Jerry “Beau” Balch. Jacquelin is survived by her aunt, Gilda Deal; her brother, William H. Kilpatrick; her sons, Bobby Dale Kelly, and wife Larke, and Michael Kingcaid, and wife Lauren; her grandchildren, Katy Kelly Tucker, and husband Colton, Jake Kelly, and wife Olivia; great grandchildren, Georgia Kelly and Briley Kelly; nephew, Mark Kilpatrick, and wife Missy, and their children: Megan and Drew; niece, Katherine Brupbacher, and husband Steve, and their children: Sydney and Kyla; as well as extended family. Jacquelin was a sweet, intelligent, funny, and caring person. She made friends wherever she went and left a lasting impact on those she taught and worked with. She will be sorely missed by all of her friends and family. A graveside service will be held at Carter Cemetery on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 2 PM.
