Jimmy Ray Hemphill, a resident of Mer Rouge, LA, passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the age of seventy-four. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Hemphill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Hemphill is survived by his wife, Sybil S. Hemphill; son, James V. Hemphill, and wife Sabrina; grandchildren, Jessica Creech, and husband Bryant, Jackie Barthol, and husband Josh, James A. Hemphill, and wife Kalee, Isabella B. Hemphill, and Zowie N. Hemphill; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Logan, Bentley James, and Essie Marie; sisters, Alice Free and Verna Coats; brother, Prentise W. Hemphill; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Jarred Ray Hemphill; father, Prentise Vernon Hemphill; and mother, Essie Fay Hemphill.
