SANDI,
I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW SORRY BILL AND I WERE TO HEAR OF JOE'S DEATH . KNOWING HOW CLOSE YOU WERE AND
ALL THE FUN THINGS YOU DID TOGETHER, YOU MUST BE TOTALLY DEVASTATED. HE WAS ALWAYS THE PERECT GENTLEMAN, AND MADE YOU FEEL REALLY SPECIAL, WHICH IS A GIFT IN ITSELF. HE WILL BE MISSED
BY MANY, BUT REMEMBERED FONDLY BECAUSE OF THAT, AS WELL AS HIS GREAT JOIE DE VIVRE.
I HATED TO DO THIS BY WRITING IN THIS BOOK, BUT BILL AND i BOTH HAVE THE CRUD, SO WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND JOE'S SERVICES. (WE DON;T WANT TO SPEAD IT AROUND.) BUT I DID WANT YOU TO KNOW YOU HAVE OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY AND ARE IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS AT THIS SAD TIME.

The picture with Joe and the Pelican
I told Joe that the pelican seemed safe standing next to him. Joe replied “yes he is feeling safe because I don’t eat pelican”

Q: How did you meet Joseph Gurney "Joe"?
A: Mr. Joe and Mr. Roy came to the Vo-Tech in Bastrop looking for a new receptionist. I met them at the door of the school and they interviewed me on the spot! I worked for about five years with a great group of people in his office. I knew Mr. Joe was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. This is what my husband and I admired the most about him. Our prayers are with all of his family at this time.
