Reba Sue Maxwell, born on April 12, 1936, in Bastrop, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, in Balch Springs, Texas, at the age of 88. A devoted nurse for 52 years, Reba served the healthcare community with compassion and dedication at the VA Medical Center. Her contributions were recognized through several prestigious awards, including the Secretary Award and recognition as one of the Top 100 Nurses in the Dallas and Fort Worth area. Reba cherished her faith, loving God and His son, Jesus Christ. She was an active member of her church and drew strength and joy from her spiritual community. Family was of utmost importance to her; she took great delight in spending time with her children-son Timothy Maxwell and daughter Lea Anne Maxwell-as well as her beloved grandsons, Jonathan Maxwell, Joshua Ford, and Joe Maxwell. She was a great grandmother to Jayden, Julian, Josiah, Elijah Ford and Jaxxson Maxwell. In her free time, Reba enjoyed various hobbies, including traveling, playing canasta, engaging in games, and building puzzles. These activities brought her immense joy and allowed her to create lasting memories with her loved ones. A committal graveside service will be held at 11 AM, on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, in her hometown of Bastrop, LA, with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Visitation with the family will precede the service beginning at 9:30 AM, at Golden Funeral Home. Reba Sue Maxwell will be missed dearly by all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Reba was preceded in death by: Bessie Lee Braswell & Hollis Hill.
