Funeral services for Henry A. “Buddy” Montgomery, age 81, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Rev. Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in Hughes Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12-2 p.m. immediately before the service. Buddy passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at his residence. He grew up in Beekman and joined the United States Air Force, where he served in the European country of Luxembourg. After owning and operating several successful businesses in Texas and Louisiana, he worked for and retired from the Morehouse Parish Policy Jury Highway Department after twelve years of dedicated and loyal service. He was very active in the American Legion and served in several offices there, always willing to help in any way that he could. He also held several offices in “The Forty & Eight” (an independent, by invitation, honor organization of the United States Veterans). Buddy always felt that his greatest treasures and biggest blessings were his three daughters. He was also a very loving brother and much adored uncle. Buddy is survived by the love of his life, Linda Hill; three daughters, Christy Donisi, Tricia Hamel, and Dana Hubbard, and her husband Michael; six grandchildren, Elizabeth (Earl), Alyssa (Michael), Christopher, Anthony, Brandi (Mario), and Joshua (Kat); eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Gene Montgomery and Terry Montgomery, and his wife Terri Lynn; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rosco and Elsie Montgomery; and sisters, Ida Gentry and Martha Pennington. Serving as pallbearers will be Monty Vail, Craig Evans, Dennis Carney, Randy Fortner, Pancho Roberts, and Jimbo Gaines.
