Was trying to find a number for Douglas and came across this obit. My husband was also a welder and worked with him on many pipelines. His name was H. L. (Bo) Craft. We lived in south Louisiana near Lake Charles and Doug visited many times. Bo was killed in 1994 welding on a gas pipeline and Douglas and I stayed in touch until the last 4-5 years at which time we lost touch. I am so saddened by this. RIP Doug, you will be missed.

Bud called the sheriffs office to ask you how your daddy was doing. That’s when we found out he had passed away. He looked it up and when I walked in the house he showed me the obit. We had no idea Douglas had passed. Bud and I are both in shock. We just found out and it’s to late for us to come. We are in shock. Mr. Bud will try and call you later or tomorrow to talk to you. Again we are so sorry. Love ya. Mr.Bud and Mildred Balch.

I was so sorry to hear of my cousin, Douglas's passing. The obituary states that he was a family man, that is very true. Nothing that went on in our family for sure, Douglas was there and visited many times and called and kept check on the ones who needed him. I will say that when my Dad was sick last year, Douglas visited and was very upset at Dad's passing. Dad thought alot of him and all of his nephews. Dad had the only girls on that side of the family and boy did we catch it from Douglas, but we held our own. I am just so saddened that our Aunt Francis, (Dougs mom) is not aware of all of this and it hurts alot, but I will say Douglas never complained to us. He was just a good man. Rest in Peace dear cousin
