Monica and Terry, Your mother was a phenomenal woman. The stories she would tell me were funny as well as instructional. I was glad that my family could grow up so close to her. Please accept my condolences. Ellen Highsmith

I loved Mimi so much and I will mss her. I am glad to know however that she is with God now as well as with her beloved, Leon, whom she lost 50 years ago. Mimi was loved by all who knew her especially her students of Pine Grove Elementary where she taught for 25 years. I loved her for thr the 61 years she was a part of my life. She was my second mother.
Mimi was tiny but she ruled by love and not by size. She was a feisty little lady who reminded me of a bulldog, cute but tough. Of course, because of her size she was more like a pug.
Thank you for sharing this precious woman with me. I love you!!

Mrs. Marie Williams was my third grade teacher. And, she taught both my girls. She was the most precious person. She always asked me to write the assignments on the black board because she said I had lovely handwriting ability. She never forgot that, and every time I visited her to take a birthday gift or ran into her, while she shopped with Monica or Terry, she always reminded us that I was her helper with the blackboard. I loved her. I think, besides my mother, this sweet lady had more impact on my life than any other. I'm so sorry, Monica & Terry and your families, that you have lost her but she has certainly gained her wings for she is an angel.
