Obituary of Marie McKoin Williams

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie McKoin Williams are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, January 22, 2018 at Golden Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Whit Stodghill officiating.  Interment will follow at Christ Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday evening, January 21, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Goldens.  Mrs. Williams, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the age of ninety-seven.

She was a retired Morehouse Parish school teacher, having taught third grade at Pine Grove Elementary School for twenty-five years.  She loved, and was loved and adored by, all of her former students.  She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and a very devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her husband Leon Williams; daughter Gayle Rankin; parents; and one brother. 

She is survived by her daughter, Monica Jordan and husband Glyn, of Collinston; son, Terry Williams and wife Kathy, of Bastrop; son-in-law, Tommy Rankin; grandchildren, Donnie Jones and wife Tammy, Veronica Risinger and husband Randall, and Emily Lambright; great-grandchildren, Cobi Brown, Kara Brown, Grace Prince, and Ariel Jones.

Serving as pallbearers are: Cobi Brown, Roger Dale Jones, Danny DeBlieux, Billy Shepherd, Davy Patrick and Danny McGrew. Honorary pallbearers are: Tommy Rankin, Brad Bates, Dennis Reynolds, Rick van Loon and William Hayden.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church or charity of your choice.
