I can’t say enough how much of an honor it was to work with Ms. Klick. She is truly missed very much already. She always was so happy to see me as well as the other staff. She didn’t show partiality to anyone. She made my day everyday that I was with her. I’m so greatful that I was beside her when she took her last breath. I was able to tell her that I was honored to work with her and that I loved her. I also told her that the other staff, and I called their names, felt the same way I did. Rene was also there with her. She played music and we prayed with Ms. Klick and read Psalms 91 to her which I feel gave her the strength to let go and rest in Jesus. What an honor to be able to be there. I love and miss you Ms. K as staff called her at times. It was also an honor knowing her son and his wife and daughter and her husband. Y’all reflect her love and how she taught y’all. It’s an honor to know y’all. It was also an honor to work with 5 awesome women that loved Ms. Klick and we loved each other. God put our team together. I love you all very much. God bless the Klick family in the days ahead.

I'm Jay Duffy, the youngest son of Eugenia Keahey Duffy, and nephew to "Aunt Tavia." I haven't seen Aunt Tavia since her 100th birthday celebration. What a party that was, and I echo Mr. Pickens who said she made him feel like the only one there. I grew up through the 60s and 70s visiting Aunt Tavia and Uncle Otto several times per year and those trips are still some of my favorite memories. Uncle Otto and Aunt Tavia were such gracious hosts to a little guy like me, and I was passionately in awe of her children, Kathryn and Harold, and am thinking of them today.
I could go on and on with stories - our first big Keahey family reunion is something I will remember always. Spending hours with Uncle Otto and Aunt Tavia telling me about the bottles. Falling in the goldfish pond one Christmas and nearly dying - ok, an exaggeration, but vivid, so vivid are the memories. Aunt Tavia, you will be missed. May your surely rest in peace. Harold, Kathryn, and family, I am thinking of you and wishing you all a swift passage through your grief.
I am on the other side of the country and cannot honor Aunt Tavia in person. Send her off with a hug and kiss from me, please.

Ms Octavia made several trips to Pickens, even after her 100 birthday.
I always enjoyed listening to her talk about My grandfather and great grand
father. She told me stories of them and the farm that I never knew before.
At her 100 birthday she made me feel that I was the most important one there.
She was always a joy to be around.
Love
Andrew

I first met ‘Miss’ Klick the end of May of this year. My friend Renita had ask me about helping out for a couple of months for the summer. When I took this job, I had no idea that she would touch my heart forever!! At first I was just a ‘fill in’ sitter to her, but soon she and I both knew that I would be there until the end! Her stories were so fascinating to hear!! I would sit for hours listening on the edge of my seat, waiting to hear more! I felt as if I’d known her for many years! She told me that she was so happy that I had come and taken the job, and I told her that I needed her, way more than she needed me!! She filled a piece of my heart that was so empty from previous hurts. As much as I was able to pour my heart out to her, I did! When I was not at her house working, I was thinking about her, and praying for her! I couldn’t wait to get back to see her again! All of us sitters feel this way! She was more like a grandmother to me than my own was! I will forever be grateful to have known her, even for only a few short months! I will NEVER forget her, or her wonderful stories!! She LOVED her family SO MUCH and would go on and on about all of them and their accomplishments! She was VERY proud of her family, and adored her husband, Mr. Otto Klick. My prayers are with all of her beloved family! She is HOME now, with all of her family who were waiting to see her again! My love to all of you, and many prayers, for I know she will be missed!
