Obituary of Alvin Bruce Allen
On Tuesday, February 26, 2019, Alvin Bruce Allen, husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather passed away at sixty-six years of age. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Bruce Allen.
Alvin will be forever remembered by his loving wife of forty-three years, Jane, and their four children Joani Hodnett and husband Charles, Emily Raney and husband Jace, Mitzi Albritton and husband Jamie, and Greg Allen and wife Alexis, as well as his mother Virginia, and brothers, Larry Allen and wife Mary, Jerry Mac Allen and wife Cathy. He was also “Bigabal” to seven grandchildren: Alyssa, Ana, and Mitch Hodnett; Cohen, Brooks and Anderson Raney; and Haddie Albritton.
Alvin served in the Army National Guard. He was a deacon at Crestview Baptist Church, as well as an active member of his community.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be his nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 5 PM - 7 PM at Crestview Baptist Church in Farmerville, LA.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, March 1, 2019 at Crestview Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Whiteside officiating. Interment will follow at Roark Allen Cemetery in Marion, LA under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home, an accredited veterans foundation, or the charity of your choosing.
