Mary Ellen Taliaferro Baker, 70, of Bastrop, LA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 12, 2019.

Mrs. Baker was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She was a charter member of Harmony Baptist Church where she dedicated her service as the church treasurer for many years. Additionally, she served on the Harmony Baptist Church Ladies Auxiliary Committee. She enjoyed being a member of the Twin City Chevy Club. She took pride in growing up and raising her family in the Bastrop community.

Mrs. Baker is preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, mother and father, John Michael Baker, Rachel Taliaferro and Jack Taliaferro.

She is survived by son, Kevin Michael Baker and wife Dana of Spring, TX; grandson, Kollin Michael Baker, who was her pride and joy; sister, Anita Myers and husband B. L. (Pick) of Bastrop; special friend Jennifer Collins and husband Don, nephews and many loving friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Golden Funeral Home with Brother Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Don Collins; Anthony Griffith, Carlton Brodnax, Chris Bebee, Ethan Chunn, Dennis Hughes

Honorary pallbearer are Thomas Hilton and Carl Brodnax.

The family would like to thank Dr. Carter Cox, the LeGrand Nursing Home and Harmony Baptist Church for their care and compassion.
