Charlie was one of a kind. He had a heart as big as he was! He was always joking and cutting and forever offering words of encouragement. I haven’t seen him in years but we chatted regularly on messenger late at night because I work nights and he would be up. He never let cancer get him down. Even the night before he went to the hospital he was still stubborn as always and determined to win and he did. He received the ultimate prize. Jesus said, “ Well done”. I love and miss you already my friend. My heart and prayers are with your family right now. May the Lord bless and keep each and everyone of you!

Charlie was such an amazing guy. Always friendly and kind, funny and fun loving. I know he loved his girls more than anything and adored his boxer. There is a saying, "To have a friend you have to be a friend" Charlie was a friend to so many and everyone loved him. His presence in our community will be missed but never forgotten by many people who's lives he touched in some way.
There are no words that can be said to his girls or close friends to make things better, but just know that he will always be with you. So many prayers are going up for all of you.

We, all of us in Virginia have heavy hearts over the passing of Charlie. We loved him the boy he was and the man he had became. We love and consider all the Montgomery's family. We are there in love and with lots of prayers.

Although I had only known Coach Charlie for a short time he was a special guy to me and my girls. Always to the point, but gave it to you with tons of love. He will be truly missed but I am glad I can carry his memories on with me and the girls. You will be missed & always loved!
