We were so very saddened to learn about the passing of Bill. He was truly a role model for many of us at First Baptist and we are blessed to have known him.
Know you are all in our prayers as you face the days ahead.

Dear Brother Bill. You taught me how to ride a bike when I was 7 years old. I didn’t have one so you gave me yours. You kept it new looking and shiny all the time.
Right away . . . I took the fenders and the chain guard off . . . I put card board in the spokes so that it would sound like a motorbike when I rode it. You taught me how to bat. We played catch together. You scolded me when I needed it. You complemented me and praised me as well.
You were the brother that all little boys should have. . . To teach to mentor and to love.
I’ll miss you my brother, thanks for all you did to everyone that knew you.
May our Heavenly Father keep you safe and happy until we meet again.
Your little brother Charles.

What a beautiful tribute to Bill's life. The pictures were awesome. I had the privilege to know Bill and be part of his family. He was a dedicated man of God, I could ask him anything and he'd know where to go in Bible to find it. He welcome me into his home and made me feel so comfortable. I loved Bill and Sue and he will be missed greatly. God has another great angel.

As Bill goes on to meet our Heavenly Father without pain or worry, my heart goes out to my Aunt Martha Sue and the whole family he leaves behind. He left a great mark on this world and I was so proud to call him Uncle Bill. My heartfelt prayers go out to all that will miss him. He left a great legacy and now can be free and will be in our hearts forever. I love you Aunt Martha Sue!

Bill Goodnight, my father in law, is the finest and most Godly man I have ever had the honor to be able to call him Papaw. Though I was only around him for about 8 years, I remember when I asked him if I could marry his daughter. I was sitting next to him and Sue and asked him Iif he would allow me to become part of his family and marry Beth. He stared at me and looked over at Sue and in his own way said, “ son I already thought you were part of this family”. I will cherish his humor, his teachings, his notes he secretly handed to me and especially his blessings. In the last 2 days on this earth he still with closed eyes told me that he loved me. Safe travels my dear friend, mentor and father.
