Obituary of Joe Crenshaw

Funeral services for Mr. Joe Crenshaw, age sixty-nine, will be held at 2 PM Thursday, February 20, 2020 with Brother Phillip McCready officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. Mr. Crenshaw, a resident of Bastrop and retired manager from Collins Foods, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020. Mr. Crenshaw was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church. He started his career at Safeway Grocery Store and worked through the years in the same location, the name changed to Collins Foods whom he retired with, and finally he worked part time with Bastrop Super Foods. In 1971 he married the love of his life, Mrs. Kay. Joe was an avid deer hunter. Mr. Crenshaw was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Paralee Crenshaw; his wife, Gloria Kay Crenshaw; and siblings, Marion Barthol, Shirleen Pruitt, Emmie Kinnaird, Boyd Crenshaw, Henry Ferrell and Patricia Wells. Mr. Crenshaw is survived by his sister, Katherine Basso of Sumter, South Carolina; brother, Robert Crenshaw of Little Rock, Arkansas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Kenneth Langston, Ben Graves, Jason Baker, Corey Cooper, David Spigner, Damon Spigner, Ronald Pettis, Steve Lowery and Bardell Bostick. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 PM Thursday at Golden Funeral Home.
