Eloise Robertson Means departed this earth April 7, 2020, a month shy of her 100th birthday. She was born May 4, 1920, in Bonita, Louisiana, to Ray Thomas Robertson and Rosalie Mason Robertson. Mrs. Means was a graduate of Bonita High School, attended Northeast Louisiana Junion College in Monroe and Louisiana Polytechnic Institute in Ruston. Mrs. Means worked as a secretary, book keeper and personal assistant in Indianapolis, IN, and Isle of Marado, FL, and served as the Bonita town clerk from 1980 to 2002. She was a member of the Bonita Methodist Church since 1933, a member of the MerRouge Capter of Eastern Star, the Family History Club, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Mrs. Means was preceded in death by her husband, Louis R. Means; her parents; brothers Edwin Benjamin (Bliss) and Oren Thomas (Lois) Robertson; and sister Marion Bernice Robertson (Frank) Doles. Survivors include nephews Ellis Ray (Barbara) Doles of Gretna, LA, James Pat (Elaine) Doles of Rosepine, LA, Thomas Edwin (Denise) Robertson, Bothell, WA, John Thomas (Melissa) Robertson of Whitehouse, TX, and William Oren Robertson of Huntsville, AL; and nieces Nancy Lee Robertson of Monroe, LA, and Rebecca Robertson (Jerry) Cockrell of Heber Springs, AR; as well great nephews and nieces, and very special friends Lee Barthol and Hope Lynn of Bastrop. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude Heart of Hospice for the care and concern they extended to Aunt Eze and especially to Lee and Hope for the tender loving care they gave Aunt Eze for years including opening their home to her for the last months of her life. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Honorary pall bearers are Jake Herrington, Elroy Glosup, Rick Polk, Ronald Hopkins, Derl Johnson, and Charles Cook.
