I did not personally know Mr Andrews, however I know he was a nice man. A few months back, my car quit while driving in the middle of 165 in Monroe. By God’s Grace I somehow got it pulled over. Mr. Andrews stopped and made sure I was safe until I could get help. He made sure to explain who he was so I would be comfortable. Ended up he worked with my Uncle and Papaw. I was very thankful for his hospitality to a stranger.

Our deepest sympathy to Ricky's Family. He was our paperboy long, long years ago. We remained friends all these years. I used to see him around quite a bit but not in a while. My husband saw him about a year ago. He will be missed, always friendly, kind and eager to visit.

I met Ricky at BHS when I was AP. He was always in his OWN Space and own PLACE. If you knew Ricky , you know what I mean. Later while serving as City Mayor, I had the chance to bring him on as part of our team. He was one of the men who drove the street sweeper starting at 3am. He served well and we all benefited from his Service!
Thank You family for sharing Ricky with this community .

Brother Andrews will be greatly missed. He and I became very good friends. He would come to the shop and hang out with me. I will miss that the most. He was a very kind soul and loved everyone. He always sat next to the light switch in church just in case he was needed to turn off the lights for any video. He will be missed by all of his Gateway family.

Brother Andrews was a kind, gentle and humble man. He always had a story to tell. Sometimes we would talk all the way up to church time. He was a wise man. He will be missed greatly. Our condolences to the Andrews Family. I know he was very proud of Issac. We will be praying for you all.

Brother Ricky was a good man and a good friend to folks. I witnessed him in action to a lifelong friend who was on hospice care and brother Ricky was there whether it be just to sit with the gentleman or repair something or mow the lawn, or whatever he could do to lighten the burden for the gentleman and his wife. He loved his grandchildren and was very proud of all his Sons. Prayers for comfort and peace, and a quiet strength for the whole family to face the days and weeks ahead.

So many times we would drive by the church in Bastrop and Brother Ricky would be out there wet with sweat from working so hard to keep the lawn looking so beautiful. So sorry to hear about his passing. Love and Prayers for the Andrews family ❤️

You will be missed by those who called you Dad and PawPaw. But those of us that called you “friend” and spent time with you, those things that were done as friends will never be forgotten. Those trips to our camp to keep him from going by himself or running to Monroe to get a part, or going out to catch a bite to eat will never be the same. You touched our lives in a way that only you could do and we feel blessed to have had you in our lives! RIP old friend! Debra Brewster Hinson
