So sorry to hear of her passing. The last time we talked, she was so troubled and it hurt me so bad. Rest on, you were such a jewel and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to know you! Condolences to your family!

Gene, Nicole, Kari, Grayson and Madison,
I am so sorry for the loss of Martha! I worked with her as the secretary of Special Education and taking care of all their grants. Martha was so proud of you girls but boy she just beamed when talking about those grandchildren. They were her pride and joy! I pray for comfort for all of you and I pray for peace also. Martha is whole again and I know she was so joyous meeting her Jesus! What a reunion she had with her parents and those brothers of her's that she loved dearly! May you all feel God's loving arms around you in the days ahead. Pam McKinney

My sincere condolences to Martha's family. I loved Martha as an educator and a dear friend. She took me under her wing and taught me so much about teaching special needs children and advocating for their rights. She loved her family, grandchildren and the Lord and spoke of them often. Martha will be dearly missed by every life she touch, which is many. My love to you sweet Martha as you enjoy your heavenly home, at peace and full of joy.

It is with tears in my eyes and a heavy heart that I write this. I was so shocked and saddened to read about Martha’s passing. Martha was very special to me. She was both my mentor and my good friend. We worked together starting at the Bastrop Kindergarten Center, then Collinston Elementary, and later at the MCIO Head Start in Mer Rouge. I learned so much from her and have many, many memories that I cherish deeply. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Mr. Gene, Nicole, Kari, and the rest of the family. Martha will truly be missed, but will remain in our hearts forever.

I am just heartbroken over the news of Martha's passing. We worked together for many years. When I served as principal of the Bastrop Kindergarten Center, she and I had many professional and personal conversations. She became a treasured friend. I know I am one of many who will always appreciate her many contributions to the children of Morehouse Parish.
Please know my thoughts and prayers are with each of you as you manage life without her. She was very proud of her two girls. She raised you to be strong women and I know you will continue to live your lives with the many valuable lessons she has taught you. God bless !
