Barbara and family, I'm so saddened at the passing of your precious husband and father. He was a gentle soul, who loved visiting with old friends. My mind keeps going back to when you and I along with your precious Woodrow, all attended Mer Rouge elementary and high school together back in the best years of the 50's. Before he joined up with the U.S. Air Force, he took you as his bride. You were a Military Wife. After his time spent over seas, he came back home and you all went to Alaska. Alaska!!! It was hard not being close to my best friends, but when Woodrow retired from the Air Force, you all came back home to Bastrop. So many wonderful times we got to share, like hunting rabbits and camping. We both ended up being neighbors with camps on the Bonne Idee. But time has a way of distracting us. Each time I'd see you and Woodrow, it was like we were renewing our friendship...no time had elapsed. Woodrow was not one to sit still and he went to work at Morehouse General where I also worked. You two then moved to Tallulah, where he fulfilled his desire to be a hospital administrator; something he had trained for while serving with the military. He then retired and you all came back to Bastrop. He lived a good life until his heart just gave way. He was a good husband to my best friend. I will be praying for peace and comfort for you all during this time. Just know that we love you. /Julie and Carlton Ostteen
