I remember having run with Diane every summer at our grandparent's house
One summer, we were in our teens, we went to Savannah with our families. When we got there, Diane and I went our separate ways, while the others visited our aunt. While we were seeing the sights, we saw St. John's church. I said I was baptized there. Diane said let's go inside. So we did. We were just looking around when a priest appeared. He wanted to know what we were doing and we said just looking around. Then the priest said "WELL, GET ON OUT OF HERE." Diane thought it was so funny and told the others that we were thrown out of church.
Another summer, all of our aunts, uncles, and cousins were at our grandparents house. It was time for dinner and Diane and I went in to eat, but all of the seats were occupied. I said we could eat UNDER the table. So, we fixed our plates and did just that, laughing the whole time.

My heart is sad, but I know Diane is home and well now. As the new kid on the block our Junior year in high school, Diane made me feel so welcomed (as did all the family). She was my best friend! I know how much she is missed and you all remain in my prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear this, but I surely know she is truly without pain or worry, I worked with Diane many years at Hickory Manor, we often talked for quite awhile about our love for Jesus, she was a beautiful soul, she will truly be missed, will be holding the family up in prayer, for I know their life will never be the same. Wrap your arms around each and everyone of them, Jesus.

Such a sweet soul. She was wonderful support in my early years of teaching at East Side Elementary. I know you will be missed, but heaven is a brighter place since you stepped through the gates. I will see you soon my Sister in Christ!

A jewell in God's crown?, if possible she would be so. I watched her devote her life to goodness, and love. She has made heaven sweeter, earth saddened at her passing
God by Holy Spirit will comfort those so very close with precious memories, His grace. Prayers for all.

I remember Diane mostly for her wonderful smile and obvious joy. I knew Al well before I met Diane and am thrilled they found such happiness with each other. Al, my heartfelt sympathy to you and my prayer that the wonderful memories of your 50 years will sustain you until you see each other again.

I will always remember Mrs. Rea as being one of my favorite, sweetest long term subs that I enjoyed while attending Pine Grove Elementary. I must say that I was definitely the “Teacher’s Pet”, and it didn’t matter that her nephew, Scott, was in the class, I was still the “Pet” lol. I also remember the times that she and my mom, Mary Crowder Armont, worked together and shared stories of their children and grandchildren. I had the chance to reconnect with her when I began working at the Bastrop Post Office with her husband, Mr. Al. Years had gone by and my next encounter with her is when her granddaughter, Brooklyn, and my daughter, Carliya Trotter, attended Beekman Elementary together. No matter the years in between, when I saw her she was always the same sweet Mrs. Rea. Prayers for Mr. Al and the rest of the family. Rest in Heaven Sweet Lady! ~ Shonnie Hall-Trotter
