Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Opal Moore are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, January 2, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Bastrop, LA with Bro. Richard Gambill officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12 noon - 2 PM service time at the church.
Mrs. Moore, a member of First Baptist Church, passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at the age of eighty-seven. She loved her children and grandchildren, traveling, decorating and shopping.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Charles E. Moore; daughter, Connie Moore Brewer and husband Richard of Monroe, LA; Brian Steven Moore and wife Michelle of Monroe, LA; sisters, Mary K. Gardner of San Ramon, CA, Shirley Ann Sadler and husband Roger Dale of Parkdale, AR; grandchildren, David Brewer, Grace Ann Moore, Brian Steven Moore, Jr., Eli Moore, and Bella Moore.
Mrs. Moore is preceded in death by her parents, Scott and Grace Powell; brothers, H.S. Powell, Frank Powell, Jim Powell, Bill Powell, Ben Powell; sisters, Tommye Garza and Margie Box.
Serving the family as pallbearers are Robert Shaw, Raymond Westbrook, Rodney Dew, Terry Williams, Shelby Moore, Alfred Hemphill and Gene Moore.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons and their wives of First Baptist Church.
