Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Marie Price Smith are scheduled for 2 PM Friday, May 21, 2021 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Terry officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 12 noon - 2 PM service time at Goldens. Mrs. Smith, a retired Librarian, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the age of ninety-six. She was an active devoted member of Bethel Pentecostal Church and taught at church. Mrs. Smith was a telephone operator in her younger years and later worked at the Morehouse Parish Library for twenty-three years. She was an avid bowler, loved working in her yard with her flowers and playing cards. She is survived by her children, William “Bill” H. Price III and wife Beverly, Cherry Sue Price; step-daughters, Cynthia Diane Alford and husband George, Sheila Denise Lebrun and husband Roger, Georgia Ann Root and husband Mark, Deborah Louise Hosea and husband Tommy; siblings, Joy Edgington, Joyce Graves, and David “Sonny” Carlisle; grandchildren, Eric Price and wife Kim, Mandy Erin Guice and husband Gary, Neely Anne White Cathey and husband Chris, Chelsy Marie McDuffie Johnson and husband Chris; step-grandchildren, Michelle Ferrin, Scott Poirier, Britney Thomas, Chris Edwards, Jennifer Almond, Little George Almond, Brandy Aden, Dakota (Kota) Root, Matthew Hosea; and numerous great grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Mrs. Smith is preceded in death by husbands; William H. Price, Jr and George Nicholas Smith; parents, Perlie Willard Carlisle and Lydia Viola Jones Carlisle; step- granddaughter, Clara Almond; siblings, Joe W. “Buck” Carlisle and Marguerite Roberts. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Hughes, Gary Guice, Todd Hughes, Eric Price, Frank Hales and Gary Hughes. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Christine Glover, Kathy Johnson, Joy Edgington, Joyce Graves and Elara Hospice for the love and care provided to their mother.
