I am most saddened about Harris's passing. I was really praying he was going to be able to regain his health after his long illness. I met Harris when he first began teaching in Morehouse Parish. He was a participant in the MFirst Program which I supervised. He was always willing to listen and put into practice the things we discussed.
May God give you all peace and comfort during this time. Rest in peace, dear Harris.

We know Harris will be greatly missed by his family! We remember how he loved to cook. Harris made the first fried turkey that we’d eaten, way back when we visited him in Sweetwater, TX. And he loved to eat! We took him to a well-known New York deli in Austin once and had a great time hearing his stories about foods he enjoyed. Prayers for his family as they grieve.
