Obituary of Harris Goldenberg

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Harris Goldenberg are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 20, 2021, in Bartholomew Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Clelie Stone officiating. Services will be under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Goldenberg, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at the age of seventy-two. He was a volunteer firefighter, loved riding his Harley and was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders and BACA. Mr. Goldenberg was a lifelong educator, including High School, Technical School and Industry. He loved his dogs (especially Thelma & Louise), was interested in genealogy, loved cooking, and was a film enthusiast. Mr. Goldenberg also served as a lay Rabbi at the Northeast Louisiana Veteran’s Home in Monroe, LA.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Scoggins Goldenberg; daughters, Randi Costenbader and husband Matthew of College Station, TX, Jodie Mayo and husband Bronshea of Josephine, TX, Amanda Smith of Monroe, LA; sisters, Roberta Goldenberg and Diane Calitri of Wading River, NY; grandchildren, Grace Costenbader, Jack Costenbader, Liam Costenbader, Jensen Giddens, and Adam Bingham.
Mr. Goldenberg is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Johanna Chernow, and Mortimer and Dolores Goldenberg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children in memory of Mr. Goldenberg.
