Funeral services for Mr. David Carroll are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, August 7, 2021, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bros. Allan Eppinette and Heath Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, from 5 PM - 7 PM at Goldens. Mr. Carroll, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021, at the age of seventy-one. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Carroll loved working at the Fire Department for twenty-eight years, and retired as District Chief. He considered his fellow firefighters as his own family. Mr. Carroll was an avid hunter and fisherman when he was younger, and later in life he enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports. He also loved riding his Harley. He is survived by his mother, Lois Carroll of Bastrop, LA; son, Damon Carroll and wife Kim of Bastrop, LA; sister, Vickie Carroll Sartor and husband Clay of Calhoun, LA; brother, Charles Edward Carroll and wife Barbara of Calhoun, LA; grandchildren, Dylan Carroll, Austin Carroll; and granddog, Brodi. Mr. Carroll is preceded in death by his father, Ancil David Carroll; and brother, Michael Ray Carroll. Serving as pallbearers will be Rodney Posey, Kenny Kelley, Steve Kelley, Kevin Kelley, John Tom Duncan and Bruce Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the 101st and 502nd, Wendell Carr, Jim “Kirby” Turner, Donnie Goleman, Donald Glossup, Darrell Bray and the entire Fire Department family.
