Mr. Cummins was a wonderful friend to my Dad, Carl Odem. Especially after Mom’s death, Mr. Cummins was always an encouraging friend, with a funny story and a smile to help get Dad through a sad time.
Dad and Mr. Cummins spent a lot of happy hours buying, selling, and swapping goats, with each one trying to get a better “deal” than the other. We were so sorry to hear of Mr. Cummins death and will miss the love and laughter his visits always included.

I have only fond memories of Mr. James and Mrs. Myrna from church. He was quiet and humorous like my dad. I was in the youth group and girls ensemble with Paula and we also graduated together. She was one of my very first friends when I moved to Bastrop in 1977. Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers as you lay your daddy to rest so soon after losing Jordan.
My condolences, Mary Tatum Nero

Our condolences to all the family. James & Myrna were good friends years ago when we lived in Bastrop and their 2 young daughters, Penny & Paula were so pretty and attended church with our 2 sons, Chuck & Todd. Later we learned of Myrna’s death and learned of Margaret & James marriage. So proud to know that they each found love again. A few years ago, I met Lana and again was happy for him. Will keep you, especially the grandchildren, as they find comfort in God’s love. Charles & Helen Johnston

Mr. Cummins was a wonderful friend to my brother Carl Odem.
James visited and called often to check on him during his confinement at home and recent illness. He attended his services on Thursday and said his final farewell. They will continue their deals and discussions about their goats when they meet again. He and his family have been a blessing to all of us. Sympathy and prayers to all of the family.
